The Reason People Are Homeless

As written in last letter concerning Landlord Issues to Clients or Renters. The issues are a consistent one.
These issues do not just apply with Landlord issues but are a general issue concerning authorities .
Authorities miss use there power.

1.As a woman who has endured poverty, studied the system issues, I know that in fact the issues of Homelessness is based on Laws, and System issues.

2. In my experiences I have had arrears issues, due to issues with Landlords, and having to move out as a result.

3. Latter finding out I have to pay them back. Then after being put out on the streets, because I have nowhere to put my belongings, store my furniture, I end up losing everything, and have to start over.

4. Being on the streets, I find the systems expect that I pay my Arrears costs before receiving housing.

This method does not work because homelessness requires survival and survival only allows half of a assistance check, or none at all. 600.00 street income, this only helps survival, not to receive a apt, or to pay debts or arrears costs in Ontario. B.C only gives 234.00 for Street assistance and is a lot worse.  Salvation Army Stability Banks are not helpful, due to paying back the Loans.
Being homeless, we can not pay arrears costs as a result.

5. Because Arrears costs are not paid, people end up on the streets struggling through the systems, and Laws. Taking Loans to maintain there stability, and pay back arrears costs. They become in debt.

6. Latter this debt become so much harder, because Loan places add on interest . These interest add on cause more debt, more issues for those in Poverty.

7. As a result of Landlord Issues, the client or renter ends up not being able to claim there rental payments to Taxes each year, due to landlord not giving them there receipt , and they lose out.

8. They do not get there rebates from Governments as a result.

These rebates from Governments, in fact could add up to over a 1000.00 or more not given to the client or renter, in which could have been a benefit to the client or renter and they could have paid for a new rental, not being homeless as a result, or being able to pay debts off.

9. Then the client or renter suffers, goes to court tribunal, loses and has to pay more.

10. The Landlord wins Court tribunal hearing, and the client or renter suffers as a result. They lose everything, and have to start over. Never receiving there tax returns as a result. A Brick wall is in front of them.

11. In most cases the Landlord lies in Court, and in fact has not done his part , or done his job in the units or property , but this is never dwelt with and the Landlord gets away with it.

12. The Landlord in fact takes away from the tax rebates for clients or renters, never audited, and in fact claim those rental costs to the Taxes through the Governments each year, receiving back what they lost.

This is in fact is unlawful. This must be looked at , and never be allowed to happen.

Changes need to be made as a result. That is why it should never be one sided. The Client has rights as well, to be healthy, and should in fact be allowed to have written agreements for Landlords to do there jobs required.
